Itachi could feel the torment the woman was going through and smirked as Kurai's memories slowly went by. However, when the painful memories stopped, they switched to the first time where Kurai met Kisame and Itachi and then went on from there.

Her mother was surprised to see how much ligher Kurai's heart had become now. She saw Kisame training Kurai, giving her her sword, praising her for doing well. She saw Itachi's silent nods of encouragement, the fleeting touches on the arm or shoulder that helped him communicate without needing to speak. Her mother saw just how happy she was now with the Akatsuki, her bruised heart and mind slowly healing over now that she had turned her back on her old life. She now knew what it was to care for people and for other people to care for her.

"Time is almost up. Now, for the final memories" he said as the memories went through the various days and meetings of the different Akatsuki members, her meeting her idol Konan, Itachi and Kurai pursuing a romantic relationship, then on to seeing Itachi torture Kurai's father and then being finished by Kurai, who used a kunai to end her father's life, the confession of Kurai and Kisame seeing each other as father and daughter and now then onto the very day Kurai and her mother met, the painful words spoken of by said woman about Kurai and then finally, Kurai being led away by Kisame.

The crippled woman could hardly believe just what had happened in her daughters life. It was difficult to believe the Akatsuki, of all people, brought her happiness. She had felt every ounce of pain her daughter had felt and it was even more painful than her withdrawl. As she slowly approached reality again, she looked up at Itachi, now knowing what he was to Kurai. She had nothing to say. She was a blubbering, shivering wreck. She wasn't prepared to say anything that could get her killed.

Itachi stared down at her as he pulled the ninja wire off of the woman. Without saying a single word to her, he slowly turned around and starting walking away in the same direction Kisame and Kurai went, his Mangekyou turning back into it's three-tomoed Sharingan.

Scrambling to her feet as if her life depended on it, the woman ran back to her village clumsily. From that day on, she would no longer even TRY to approach her daughter. At this rate, if she even ran into her daughter accidentaly, she could end up dead. She was still thinking for herself and herself only. After all of this, she still rated her daughter as second best only to herself. However, it was safe to say that she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight while Kurai was safe with Itachi and Kisame, even if Kurai was still sniffling in Kisame's arms. They had just reached their temporary base now.

Itachi shook his head. He had no idea why he even bothered to do such a thing. The woman was far beyond help and he actually wasted a Tsukuyomi on her for nothing. At least she knew now to stay as far away from her daughter as possible as Itachi disappeared in a swirl of leaves.
